You may know the name. You might even recognize the logo. But unless you've received help-or stepped into the story of someone who has-you may not know what United Way really does.
We aren’t a single program. We don’t offer direct services. We don’t have a food bank, a shelter, or a classroom of our own.
But behind the scenes, we help make those things possible.
What We Do-and Why It Matters
United Way of Grays Harbor and Pacific Counties exists to support the people and organizations doing the most important work in our community. We raise funds, listen deeply, and distribute those funds to trusted local nonprofits who serve our neighbors every single day.
Not in the spotlight, but ALWAYS in the story.
Why We Don't Just Run Programs Ourselves
It’s simple: We amplify what works. We find the best local programs so your donation doesn't just help, it multiplies!
We believe in trusting the experts already doing the great work on the ground. Our role is to listen, lift, and leverage resources so those on the frontlines can stay focused on their mission and we can focus on four pillars which ensure our community thrives!
Our grant process is competitive, community-led, and deeply intentional.
We don’t choose based on buzzwords-we choose based on impact.
Behind Every Program Is a Person
Behind every service we help fund, there's a name. A face. A story.
Like the young mother who found support through Snug Harbor and COPE after becoming pregnant in high school-finishing school while learning to be a parent.
Or the father who stood at a food pantry feeling like he’d failed-until he was welcomed with kindness and walked out with dignity, a full box of groceries, and hope.
Or the child who got her first-ever book from the Imagination Library. Now she brings it to every room, telling her siblings, “Look what I can read.”
